What I'm listening to: Flamingo-Oscar Peterson.
He came from Little Burgundy, round these parts. I've thought of living there, but it's still a bit too far off the beaten track for my liking. But, my budget being somewhat limited, I just may have to head over yonder.
Fellowship paperwork handed in, phew one more thing off my mind. Was supposed to grab a city newspaper today and start apartment hunting, but got a call from a lovely lady that I have considered asking out before. Ergo, afternoon written off, but wonderfully spent drinking tea.
After our meeting, which did last for a couple of hours, I felt nothing, and was somewhat bummed out. I thought to myself, well, I'll wait this out for a bit, and maybe give her a call on Sunday, after the time-lapsed desire has set in. It's starting to kick in now actually, the idealization of having a wonderful time. Maybe it's just the usual springtime hornyness, but who knows, and also, who cares.
I've felt more chemistry with others, and have generally had a better feeling with others, but hey what the hell. The dating scene has been rather dry for me lately, and hey, I'd ask her out again, if she's up for it. But, I'm wondering if I found her boring because she is here, and somewhat available. Meaning that, this could be a long term thing, but I've felt more of a spark from women who I know that nothing will come of it. I guess this inaccessability is a safe venue for desire, one can let go and be oneself, because there is no fear of rejection, no real testing, etc. She did however use the word 'vomit' during our outing, which was a pleasant surprise. She is, officially, cool.
While in a trendy store on the Main, I found a salad spoon that, when inversed, looks like a big ass crack. When I inverted the spoon, showed it to her, and started to giggle, she sighed: "Oh, grow up". She is, officially, cool.
She said that she is looking forward to the warmer weather so that she can wear more skirts. As a fan of legs, I thought this was nice. She is, officially, cool.
She did mention thought that she can't cook, and has trouble with languages. This is a problem, because I like cooking and don't want to be the only one doing it. Also, I am generally turned on to brainy women who are multilingual. Intelligence and intellectual banter is probably the biggest turn on. But of course, it is most sexy when ideas are seductive, but not overly cerebral. That's just plain boring.
Back to apartment hunting. I'll really get on this on Friday, because a friend of mine who rents properties told me that the biggest selection in the city paper is on Friday, because there is a discount for three day ads, starting on Friday. That it is-I'll get up early on Friday and buy the paper, cruise it over breakfast, and make appointments for the weekend.
