So the tube amp arrived today!!! It is now warm, and I've never heard music like this before. What a fantastic study aid!! No seriously, I feel intellecutal, thoughtful, and productive. I personally think that every graduate student should have one. Forget the health plan, just get PGSS to throw in a tube amp instead, who needs some wierdo in a white coat poking and prying you in parts of your body that you've never even seen before, when a tube amp is all the medicine you need.
For a while there, I put all the lights off in the living room so that all I could see was the tubes and the needle lights off the reel to reel. And I am glad that I got something vingtage. I'd date this one at around 1965 or so. Ahh, to be a geek, now that spring is here...
Overall today is pretty productive. Plowing through a presentation that I have on Monday. Sadly though, I missed a protest today in one of the city parks. There will be other protests, but studies and tube amplifiers come first.
This amp is so cool. It gives off a lot of heat, and the whole living room smells like a grandparent's basement-musty dust.
On another note, this is probably one of my desert island albums. I like the story in the album, so I usually listen to it from beginning to end. The singer (her name escapes me at the mo) leaves a bad relationship and falls in love again. The album is her love story, and some tracks have male vocals, indicating a dialogue of sorts.
School work is getting done, tube amplifier is nice and warm, it's warm outside. In exactly one week to the hour, I'll be on the plane for the UK, and shortly after the conference, I'll be chillin' with my cousins in Luton.
Life is good.
